When the Islanders struggled on their opening season 13 game road trip. I thought a few trades were in order.

I have since come to the conclusion that the Islanders should stand pat. Evaluate the rest of the season and find the players that are the future. Move the ones that are not and collect assets for 2022. Target free agents that will fill the needs and holes.

I am just being realistic. For this team to make the playoffs it has to go 42-10 over the next 52. It is just the reality. Unfortunately , I do not see that happening. Not after what I saw against the Caps.

To many obstacles this season. I do not think any team in the league could achieve this task.

Dont know how many of you pay attention to the poll in this story. I think I read it wrong. I think Palmeiri being out has been a huge impact. IN a POSITIVE way. Keep him in the pressbox and let the kids play!!! He has been , by far, the worst signing and most disappointing Islander this year.

If the Islanders are truly out of mathematically, I move the following players
Chara, Greene, Bailey, Varly, Palmieri, Pariesi, Casey, Clutter, Martin

Depending on the offer, I move the following players
AB, Mayfield, Salo, Aho

Untouchables
Barzal, Pullock, Pelech, Dobson. Walhstrom, Lee, JGP, Sorokin, Nelson

You’d move Mayfield!?!

Who would you replace him with?

Replace Sorokin with Varlamov and you have yourself a deal.

Add a 6th rd pick with Varlamov that will seal the deal. If we MUST we’ll throw a “future considerations” in as well.

You forgot to throw in Bailey. Every Islander trade must include Bailey.
